Industry Links
There are a number of highly useful general pages on how to measure
hedge fund performance, advanced metrics and the meaning of different
statistics. Both hedge fund databases and links are listed here.
Not all of the sources are independent, some are more academic than
others but may also be sponsored by the Hedge Fund industry.

HedgeIndex.com - This is an asset weighted hedge fund index,
containing both investable and non-investable hedge fund index
group. The site is driven by Tremont / Credit Suisse.

Barclaygrp.com - Barclay group provides free hedge fund indices,
not investable. Historically a focus on Managed Futures but the
company has evolved to cover other strategies as well.

HedgeNordic.com - A Nordic Hedge Fund index, partly driven by a
Fund-of-Funds.
- Edhec-risk.com Edhec
offers a good page with a lot of academic research, industry
reports. The site does also maintain a good hedge fund index (with
lags due the construction method)
- Cisdm.org A classic research
page, slightly focused on Managed Futures. CISDM stands for the
Center for International Securities and Derivates Markets and seeks
to enhance the understanding of the filed of alternative investing.
Maintains a set of indices and a hedge fund database (on a
subscriber basis).
- AIRC / CASS
The alternative Investment research center at the Cass Business
School contains most of Harry M. Kat's paper on hedge funds as well
as to some of his disciples.
- Hedgeweek is a free
hedge fund new resource. Requires a registration in order to get
access to news.
- Albourne Village -
perhaps the number one source for hedge fund news and gossips.
Interested users can register and subscribe daily news.
- Hedgefund.net Supplying
news to the hedge fund community as well as maintaining the Tuna
indices.
